DISTANCE IN EMBRACE - UTOPIA VERSUS ARCHETYPE
Where are the musical lines of DISTANCE IN EMBRACE to be drawn? A question
without any accurate answer. One could define it as some kind of “Hardcore-update”.
Their music basically consists of melodic punkrock tunes mixed with brutal metal riffs.
Besides violent bassdrum thunders and furious breakdowns, the emotional side is not
missed out at all. Sounds like another ready-made emocore band? Not even close!
Whenever the listener gets the slightest idea that DISTANCE IN EMBRACE might
be on the verge of sliding into any cliché of a genre, the band strikes out for a swee-
ping blow which leaves the auditor in a light bulb moment. In doing so the band does
not dread to combine their songs with elements of electronic music.
DISTANCE IN EMBRACE from Minden (Germany) is rocking cross-country through
Germany since the turn of the millennium. Right from the start they only have been
playing songs written by themselves, due to this the band developed their own, un-
mistakable style of music. Adrian Reinboth (guitar, vocals, programming), Nikolai
Falke (guitar, screaming vocals), Robin Diepolder (drums) and Sören Bädker (bass)
can hardly be restrained when doing live shows. Since the eye must be pleased as
well, the band shows from “Karate-movie-action” to “guitar-high-jump” everything
the stage has to offer.
In the meantime, DISTANCE IN EMBRACE have succeded to delight the audience
all over Germany with their uncompromising rockshow, no matter huge festivals in
big cities or clubshows in small villages. They also knew how to impress when doing
support shows for famous acts like Raised Fist (swe), Ignite (usa), Satanic Surfers
(swe), With Honor (usa), Heaven Shall Burn (ger), Bridge To Solace (hun), Venerea
(swe), Useless ID (isr), Days In Grief, Fire In The Attic, Misery Speaks, Narziss, etc.
They meanwhile left their 200th concert far behind.
Since the release of their debut album “The Consequence Of Illusions” (Horror Busi-
ness Records/ Cityrat) in January 2005, the band completed four tours through Ger-
many and a short one in Poland, together with friendly bands like Parachutes or
Closedown from Canada. In the process they were supported by wellknown compa-
nies like EASTPAK or the “Volkswagen Soundfoundation”
In autumn 2006 DISTANCE IN EMBRACE finished the recordings of their second
album “Utopia Versus Archetype” in the renowned Rape Of Harmonies Studios in
Triptis, Germany. It was produced by Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn) and out-
shines all previous recordings of the band. A release is considered for spring 2007,
so one ought to be tense.
